This policy describes how Even Margin LLC ("Even Margin," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use our website and service. Even Margin is offered to businesses in the United States. These policies are written under United States law.

Section 01

Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address and business name.
  • Financial information: account and transaction information from the bank accounts you connect, and anything you upload or enter.
  • Billing information: your plan and billing details. A payment processor handles payments, and we do not store card numbers.
  • Usage and device information: IP address, browser and device type, the pages and features you use, errors, and server logs.

How We Use It

  • To provide, secure and support the service
  • To improve and develop the service, including by reviewing transaction data to improve categorization, and by using de-identified, aggregated data to build and test features
  • To communicate with you, including account emails and product news
  • To process payments and meet legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or use your financial data for advertising.

Plaid

We use Plaid to connect your bank accounts. Plaid's handling of your information is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can revoke Plaid's access at any time at my.plaid.com.

How We Share It

  • With service providers that help us run the service, such as hosting, payment, email, scheduling and analytics providers. They may use it only to provide services to us.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Even Margin, our users or others
  • As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets

Section 05

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings and measure how the service is used. See our Cookie Policy. Some features run in another company's own frame, such as Plaid when you connect a bank, and that company may collect information about your activity across other websites. The Cookie Policy names each one. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Section 06

Security

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. To report a vulnerability, email security@evenmargin.com.

Section 07

Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete an organization in Settings and close your account on the Account page. A deleted organization is kept for 30 days, and its financial data is erased from our systems within 90 days. An organization may be deleted 90 days after its plan ends. Closing your account deletes your sign-in. We keep billing records as the law requires, and operational logs for up to 12 months. Usage analytics identify you only by an internal ID and may be kept after your account closes. Service providers that hold records for us, such as payment records, keep them under their own policies and legal obligations.

Your Choices

You can close your account yourself on the Account page. To access or correct your personal information, or to ask us to delete it, email privacy@evenmargin.com. You can unsubscribe from product emails with the link in each one. Account emails are part of the service.

Children

Even Margin is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. We post every change here with a new effective date.
